While my husband was at work yesterday, I went to visit my family. While there, we decided to have a summer barbecue. Because my husband was working late, we decided to put his steak on a bit after everyone else's to keep it somewhat warm for when he was able to come.
I have never barbecued or cooked steak before. I'm not a fan of this type of meat. It has a lot to do with my childhood rather than the taste itself.
My husband likes his steak rare medium. I had no idea how long to put the steak on for. He also had special seasoning requirements as well: only salt and pepper. Well, I cooked the steak. However it was more to my liking (well done) than anyone elses.
He ended up not eating it but eating one that my stepmother cooked instead.
I will not be cooking steak again for a very long time.
